Affirmative Action consulting firm looking to add a part-time Consultant to staff. 

Ideal candidate has a strong understanding of Human Resources and Legal functions in a Corporate environment. Must have the desire to maintain expert knowledge of Affirmative Action legislation and current/proposed rules and regulations. 

Candidate must have strong "back of the house" and "front of the house" skills, meaning they must be able to do the number crunching, research and administrative reporting aspect along with having the ability to present these reports directly to clients either over the phone or face-to-face. 

This is a unique role, part-time/work from home. They have about 10-12 consultants who write plans for companies all across the country. Training will be about 1-2 years before this person is on their own (training will consist of doing parts of the report at a time versus taking the whole thing from soup to nuts).

Almost everything is done electronically:

  • Companies send a "data dump" of their employee demographics (females, vets, minorities, disabilities, etc.), then it will be organized/sorted and person will use statistical data to break it all down. Once that's done, they'll write the AA plan for the clients and will deliver the plan either via a conference call or in-person to HR Managers, CFOs, CEOs, Attorneys, etc. 
  • These plans usually take about 4-6 weeks to compile and can be done basically any time the candidate wants (20 hours/week - honor system with hours). The work consists of a lot of number crunching and can be tedious, time consuming with complex algorithms, etc. 

Ideal candidate is good at relationship building, has an HR background and sales/customer service skills. Must also be tech-savvy and know EXCEL and Word. The person needs to be able to "talk the talk" confidentially when presenting to their clients. 

This is a nice career opportunity for maybe a retiree or an at-home mom/dad with HR, legal or sales skills looking to get back into the workforce. This is NOT a fit for someone already working full-time.
