ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensures systems, equipment, and department services meet company needs.

Assigns priorities of projects, tasks, and issues for department.

Supervises personnel as required, advises and assists on tasks and projects.

Reports progress on projects and resource utilization to the Vice President - Controller.

Acts as the Systems Security Officer and approves all security clearance requests.

Monitors the security of all systems to assure the integrity of these systems and data. 

Reviews all requests for equipment, systems, and programming requests, defines system design and schedules for completion based on importance and resources available.

Provides consultation and advisory services to internal customers on all systems.

Directs the continual upgrading of equipment, systems, and procedures to maintain pace with technological progress, economic change, and business needs.

Approves changes and acquisition of all computer, network, communication, telephone and office equipment and/or services, per company guidelines.

Coordinates activities of outside consultants and professional service firms.

Communicates with external parties concerning systems and data.

Plans education and professional development programs for personnel.

Approves all departmental purchases, including equipment, supplies, and services.

Prepares an annual Information Services expense budget, capital budget, and departmental goals. Controls budgets to stay within specified limits.

Provide other company units with related information required by them to carry out their assigned responsibilities. Provide computer and systems support for other company units.

Work place safety in areas of responsibility.

Insure that employees receive training as required.

Communication of Company and departmental objectives to all employees.

Keeping management informed on key issues.

Provide departmental leadership relative to employee participation, innovation and continuous improvement.

Develop and meet departmental goals as approved by the Vice President – Controller.

Manage department in accordance with operating policies and procedures.

Insure that employees are treated with respect and dignity.

Work as a team with other members of management and other employees to achieve overall company objectives.

Manage department in a professional manner with unquestioned integrity.

Assume other activities and responsibilities as directed.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Business Administration and five to ten years of experience in a related discipline including supervisory experience.  Extensive experience with Microsoft .NET, SQL programming, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), manufacturing applications such as MRP/APS/Planning/Scheduling/Shop Floor Reporting.  ERP experience is required.  Knowledge of communications, office equipment, personnel capabilities, processing costs, scheduling, and supervising multiple tasks is necessary. Some travel may be required.
